uPVC door spraying · Dunstable
Recolour your Dunstable uPVC door. Half a day, from £395.
Tired white or faded brown uPVC does not need replacing. We spray it in any RAL colour, both sides, hardware masked, full prep, usually in half a day, for a fraction of a new door and frame.
Send a photo of the door from outside and one from inside. That is enough for a guide price, after reviewing the details.
Dunstable
Why Dunstable uPVC fades, and what spraying fixes
uPVC does not really wear out, it discolours. White goes yellow and chalky, and the old woodgrain browns go grey and patchy. In Dunstable that happens fastest on the exposed, south and west-facing frontages, the streets running up toward Dunstable Downs and along the Tring Road side of town catch a lot of direct afternoon sun, and a door that still seals and locks perfectly can look a decade older than the house.
Replacing a functional door and frame to fix a colour problem means new hardware, new seals, a fitter and a lot of money. Spraying keeps the door, the lock, the hinges and the seals you already have, and changes the colour. Anthracite grey over white uPVC is the most common request by a distance, but any RAL colour is available in matt, satin or gloss, and unlike a replacement, you are not restricted to what the supplier stocks.
Front doors, back doors, French doors and bifolds are all sprayed both sides, with all hardware masked and the frame prepared properly. Most single doors are finished in half a day. If you are having the door done, it is usually worth pricing the surrounding window frames at the same time. Front of house, meaning the door plus three windows, starts at £745, and a full house of frames starts at £1,595.
How it runs
How a uPVC door spray runs
Half a day for most single doors, with the door staying in its frame and locking normally that evening.
Photo and price

Clean, degrease, key
uPVC lives or dies on adhesion. The door is thoroughly cleaned and degreased, then keyed and treated with an adhesion promoter so the coating bonds to the plastic rather than sitting on it.
Mask hardware and glazing
Handles, locks, letterplates, hinges, seals and glazing are all masked. Nothing is removed that does not need to be, and nothing gets sprayed that should not be.
Spray both sides and hand over
Both faces are sprayed in your chosen RAL colour and sheen. Masking comes off, the door is checked through its full swing and lock, and you get a 3-year written exterior guarantee.

The finish
uPVC finishes
Sprayed in place, both sides, in any RAL colour.
Yes, provided the preparation is right, which on plastic means thorough degreasing, keying and an adhesion promoter before any colour goes on. That prep is the whole job. Exterior work carries a 3-year written guarantee against peeling, flaking and adhesion failure.
A single uPVC door is usually half a day on site. The door stays in its frame throughout and locks normally the same evening.
Yes, and it usually looks better that way. Frames are priced from £150 each, with a £495 minimum job value. Front of house, meaning the door plus three windows, starts at £745, and a full house of frames from £1,595.
They are masked, not sprayed. Handles, locks, letterplates, hinges, glazing and rubber seals are all protected, and the door is checked through its full swing and lock before Jay leaves.
Anthracite grey RAL 7016 over white is the most requested by a long way, followed by darker blues and blacks. Any RAL colour is available in matt, satin or gloss. You are not limited to the handful of finishes a replacement door supplier stocks.
Substantially. From £395 recolours a door that already seals, locks and fits, against the cost of a new door, frame, hardware and fitting. If the door itself is failing (blown glazing units, warped sash, broken mechanism), Jay will say so rather than spray over a problem.
Yes. Base is Luton, and the regular patch covers Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Kensworth, Totternhoe, Leighton Buzzard and St Albans.
